Club Policies

Updated 2021

Oceana Golf Club reserves the right to restrict golfers from playing on the course if they do not adhere to our rules or meet our requirements associated with actions and activities at our golf club.

Waiver of Liability

While at Oceana Golf Club, you recognize and understand the nature of the activities involve certain inherent risks and dangers, and are qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in any such activity. You agree and warrant that at any time you believe the conditions to be unsafe you will immediately discontinue further participation in the activity. You acknowledge that neither Oceana Golf Club and its owners, directors, and employees are guarantors of your personal safety and that they do not have a duty to protect you from the inherent risks and dangers which you voluntarily assume while engaging in active at Oceana Golf Club and/or using rented equipment or use of the property.

In exchange for the privilege to rent a golf cart at Oceana Golf Club, you are accepting responsibility for your own negligence, the negligence of any operator of your rented golf cart(s), and cart passengers. You must operate the golf cart(s) in a safe manner and adhere to all rules set forth by Oceana Golf Club, and ensure that anyone operating the golf cart(s) with your consent does the same. You are therefore liable for all medical and legal claims that may arise from the use of the golf cart and voluntarily agree to accept the risks of using a golf cart and release Oceana Golf Club and its owners, directors, and employees from any and all claims, actions, causes of actions, suits, judgements, and demands for bodily injury, property damage, loss of life and/or services, in law or equity, that may in any way or manner arise out of use of the golf cart(s). You agree to be financially liable for any damage or injury that may occur from renting a golf cart and are responsible to inform those in your group that they will also be responsible for damage and injuries caused by use of the cart(s).

Tee Times are Encouraged

Tee times are always recommended to better ensure requested start time; walk-ins are filled on a first come, first served basis. Groups of less than four may be paired.

Any group missing their tee time will forfeit their place and will have to wait for the next available tee time.

Follow Cart Paths and Signage

Keep your cart away from tee boxes and AT LEAST 30 FEET from the green or fringe. Avoid wet or naturalized areas and spots that are getting beaten up from traffic. Drive safely and avoid sharp turns, speeding, or coming to a sudden stop. It REALLY matters! Concentrated golf cart traffic compresses soil and kills grass, driving and parking too close to the green damages the grass in those areas and makes poorer playing conditions for everyone.

Repair the Ground You Play On

Repair your ball marks on the green (little depressions left by the golf ball when it lands on the green from a tee or approach shot), replace divots on the fairways (piece of turf cut out of the ground by a golf club in making a stroke), and leave bunkers in a smooth and contoured condition consistent with the intended pattern and contour of the traps.

Look Your Best

Proper attire is expected at our golf club including: collared golf shirts (tucked in), pullovers/jackets, slacks, golf skirts, golf shorts, and suitable golf footwear.

Clothing items NOT PERMITTED at our golf club include, but are not limited to: sleeveless/cut-off shirts on men, halter/crop tops with bare midriffs, or clothing with vulgarity.

We Have a Beer License

We sell canned and bottled beer and malt beverages. No outside alcohol or personal coolers are allowed per State of Michigan law. Respect that this is not a just course rule and could result in fines or loss of any liquor licenses owned.
