Joe Foster Open

The Joe Foster Open

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Honoring A Local Legend

Named for Joe Foster, Oceana Golf Club’s first resident PGA Professional who started in 1965 and spent 27 years running the clubhouse, this annual two-day, 36-hole best ball tournament is the most highly anticipated golf event in the region. Introduced almost 50 years ago as the annual Asparagus Festival Open by Joe, the event was renamed upon his retirement and honors the spirit of the man who helped shaped this course.

Open Event Details

The two-day event will cover 36 holes, or 18 per day. The golf open also has prizes for achievements such as daily closest to the pin, longest drive, and the skins game in which a team is awarded for having a lower score than anyone else. The scores are broken into five flights, and the highest grouping is named the Championship flight.
