Some of the best weather in the history of this event produced the best results in the history of this event. Not since it was the “Asparagus tournament” prior to 1992 has there been a two day score under 131 for the “Joe” Foster Open. The 35 th annual event, which was renamed for the former PGA Golf Professional who started this event during the Asparagus Festival in Oceana County, saw a record score of 18 under par, 65-63=128 by Ken Taylor and Brad VanDam. Sunday's round was highlighted with three eagles on the card, holes number 3, 5 and 13. Also they carded the only birdie on the tough #11 which played into the wind 436 yards. Near perfect conditions and a golf course made very playable by mother nature and all the rain over the past week, 172 players enjoyed a great weekend of golf.
